Greetings from Galt
The City of Galt’s Greetings from Galt Community Photo Contest celebrates our community through photography. The annual contest invites photographers to share their perspective of Galt and help showcase the people, places, and experiences that make our community unique.
Each year, the contest will feature a new theme highlighting a different aspect of Galt and giving participants an opportunity to share the community through their lens.

2026 Contest Theme
Places & Character of Galt
Show us the places and details that make Galt recognizable. Capture local landmarks, historic features, architecture, streetscapes, neighborhoods, civic spaces, and other unique or familiar sights around town.
Whether it’s a well-known landmark or an everyday view that feels distinctly Galt, we want to see our community through your lens.
Who Can Enter?
Photographers of all experience levels are welcome
The contest is open to both residents and non-residents.
Youth Photographer
17 years of age or younger at the time of submission.
Adult Photographer
18 years of age or older at the time of submission.
Entry limit: One photograph per participant during the contest period.
How to Enter
Get ready to submit your photo
Submit one original photograph that meets the contest requirements through the City’s online entry form below.
Before you begin, have the following ready:
- Your name and contact information
- Photographer category: Youth or Adult
- Photo title
- Location where the photograph was taken within Galt
- A brief photo description of 50–150 words
- Your photo in JPEG or PNG format, no larger than 5 MB
How Winners Are Selected
Community voice + City review
One Youth Photographer Winner and one Adult Photographer Winner will be selected.
Community Vote
Qualifying entries will be displayed online for community voting following the submission period.
City Staff Judging
City staff will evaluate entries based on visual appeal and image quality, creativity and originality, composition, technical execution, storytelling and community impact, representation of the contest theme, and how effectively the photograph captures the spirit and character of Galt.
Community Voting
Help choose the winners
Qualifying entries will be available for online community voting from November 9–20, 2026.
Community members may cast one vote in the Youth Photographer category and one vote in the Adult Photographer category.
Prizes & Recognition
Your photo could become an Official City of Galt Postcard
Each winner will receive:
- A City of Galt swag bag
- Recognition through City communication channels and promotional materials
- Their winning photograph featured on an Official City of Galt Postcard for 2027
Winning and selected finalist photographs may also be featured on the City website, social media, publications, and other promotional materials.
