Project Background

This project will improve safety for all modes of travel by reducing vehicle speeds on Carillion Boulevard from Simmerhorn Road to Twin Cities Road. Planned improvements include pavement rehabilitation, reducing the width of travel lanes, increasing the width of existing bike lanes, the addition of bike lanes on southbound Carillion Boulevard, adding green bike lane markings, replacing crosswalks, replacing pavement markings, replacing speed radar signs, and improving or replacing non-ADA compliant curb ramps. The project will also evaluate the feasibility of adding new median refuge islands in the project area. The total cost for the project including design and construction is currently estimated at $4,435,000. Construction costs will be finalized upon completion of design.
