May 23-June 7 Weekends ONLY: 2:00-7:00pm
June 8 - August 7 Everyday: 2:00-7:00pm, with the exception of July 4th (2:00-6:00pm).
*Fireworks in the Pool July 4 7:00-10:00pm First 300 people ($35 for 4 or $10.00 for 1, pre-registration required)
August 8-September 7 Weekends and Labor Day: 2:00-7:00pm, Weekdays: 4:00-7:00pm
*No Public Swim 8/14 due to Movie Night Event

*Exact change/cash/check can be brought to the pool to pay for the drop-in fee or to purchase a punch card (though June 5 and August - September). Credit card or larger bill purchases must be done at the Parks & Recreation Office Mondays through Thursdays from 8:00am - 5:30pm (excluding holidays).

Gora Aquatic Center Pool Safety Rules
New policies and procedures have been put in place due to Covid-19 and the direction of Sacramento County
NO DOGS/PETS ALLOWED AT THE AQUATIC CENTER.
Waterslide Rules
- All riders must be at least 48” tall.
- Maximum rider weight is 300 pounds.
- WARNING: Water depth is 3 feet 6 inches.
- Non-swimmers are NOT permitted on the waterslide.
- All riders MUST ride feet first while lying on their back with arms crossed across their chest. Do not go down the slide head first. Do not sit up while riding the slide.
- Riders must enter the slide in a sitting position and wait for instructions from the lifeguard station at the slide starter tub.
- Do not propel yourself into the ride.
- Only ONE rider at a time. Absolutely no trains or chains of riders are permitted.
- No running, standing, kneeling, rotating, tumbling, or stopping in the flume. Arms and hands must remain inside the flume at all times. Riders should remain in proper riding position until forward movement is terminated. At no time should the rider attempt to stand up while on the slide or prior to coming to a complete stop in the splash out area.
- No tubes, mats, or lifejackets are permitted on the waterslide.
- No combs or foreign objects are allowed in pockets and no jewelry can be worn while riding the slide. No cut-off jeans or swimwear with exposed zippers, buckles, rivets or metal ornamentation allowed; only approved swim suits permitted on the slide.
- The line will form on the deck with one rider on each landing and one rider in the starter tub. Wait until landing area is clear before entering.
- Riders must be in good health.Elderly persons, those suffering from heart disease, high blood pressure, epilepsy, or persons using prescription medication should consult their physician before using this slide.Individuals with medical conditions including; but not limited to, pregnancy, heart attack, or back problems should not ride.
- Do not use this slide while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- No diving from the slide.
- Leave the plunge pool promptly after entering.
WARNING: FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE RULES CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY
Lifeguard Class Incentive Program
- Visit the City's Job Opportunity page and apply to be a "Lifeguard - Not Yet Certified (Recreation Worker II - Temporary)"
- This class is for individuals who intend to work for the City of Galt at the Gora Aquatic Center.
- The City is offering one (1) Lifeguard Training Classes this season.
- SKILLS TESTING FOR THE CLASS IS Thursday, March 5th OR Friday, March 6th at 6:00pm at the Gora Aquatic Center. Please RSVP as to which evening you will attend.(MUST BE SUCCESSFUL IN ALL TO CONTINUE ON WITH THE LIFEGUARD CLASS).
- Must show proof of age (15 years or older)
- Swim-Tread-Swim Sequence (50/50 yards)
- Jump into the water from the side, totally submerge, recover to the surface and swim 50 yards.
- After swimming 50 yards, maintain your position at the surface of the water without support for 2 minutes by treading using only your legs, floating or a combination of both
- After maintaining position at the surface of the water for 2 minutes, swim 50 more yards.
- You must use front crawl, breaststroke, or a combination of both. Swimming on the back is not permitted.
- Timed Event
- The swim distance will be 20 yards where a 10-pound brick will be placed at 6 feet deep.
- Swimmer has 50 seconds to complete:
- Starting in the water, swim 20 yards with face in or out of the water
- Submerge to a depth of 6 feet to retrieve the 10-pound brick.
- Return to the surface and walk or swim 20 yards on your back to return to the starting point, holding the object at the surface with both hands and keeping your face at or near the surface. Swimming the distance underwater is not permitted.
- Exit the water without using the ladder or the steps.
- SKILLS TESTING FOR THE CLASS IS Thursday, March 5th OR Friday, March 6th at 6:00pm at the Gora Aquatic Center. Please RSVP as to which evening you will attend.(MUST BE SUCCESSFUL IN ALL TO CONTINUE ON WITH THE LIFEGUARD CLASS).
Class is March 21, 28, April 11, 18 and 25 (All Saturdays 9am - 6pm).
CANNOT MISS ANY DAYS.
Attendance at all dates is mandatory to pass the class.
