Long Range Financial Plan

Multi-year forecasting was necessary to provide data for strategic decision making to correct the City's fiscal situation. The Financial Sustainability Project has been folded into the City's Long Range Financial Plan (LRFP).

The Long Range Financial Plan is a tool to assist in forecasting the financial implications of decision making including plans for long-term revenue enhancements being considered by City Council. The plan is designed to allow City Council to gauge the City's financial position as we proceed into budget development. 

The City of Galt presented a Long Range Financial Plan in early 2019 in response to City Council's strategic plan that targeted, among other initiatives, fiscal sustainability. The City had been reducing expenditure budgets and services annually since Fiscal Year 2016-17, to address insufficient and declining revenues.
