In a continuing effort to improve customer service and streamline the permitting process, the City of Galt now offers an online permit portal allowing customers to apply for and obtain certain types of building permits online. Permit types NOT included in the below list must be submitted in-person at the Building Division counter or submitted by mail. Online permits are available for the following projects: 

Plumbing

• Minor Plumbing
• Water Heater Replacement

Mechanical

• Minor Mechanical 
• HVAC Replacement 

Electrical

• Minor Electrical
• Electrical Panel Replacement/Upgrades

Building

• Minor Remodel
• Window Replacement
• Reroof 
• Demo Permits

Submitting an Online Permit 

The Online Permit Portal does not have a login/account function, submittals cannot be paused, or progress saved if incomplete.  The process flow for online permitting via the iWorQ Portal is as follows: 

1. Applicant completes permit application and submits via iWorQ Portal.
2. City of Galt Building Division reviews submittal and verifies completeness, or requests additional information, if required.
3. City of Galt Building Division provides applicant invoice for permit payment, payment can then be made via the PayRoc link on invoice. 
4. Once payment has been received by the City of Galt Building Division, applicant will receive permit documents electronically via the email address provided on the permit application. 
5. Applicants are required to print all documents and maintain onsite during Building Division inspection.
