California Senate Bill 827 requires local agencies with public websites to give clear instructions and contact information explaining how the public can request copies of ethics and fiscal/financial training records for covered city officials.  The city is committed to transparency and following state law.  Members of the public may request training records using the process described below:

• Ethics training records (AB 1234) - Required every two years for covered officials.  Training must be completed within six months of assuming office (starting January 1, 2026).
• Fiscal and financial training records (SB 827) - Officials serving on or after January 1, 2026, must complete their first training by January 1, 2028.  Accordingly, some records may not yet be available.

You may request a copy of training records by submitting a Public Records request to the City Clerk's Office at clerk@cityofgalt.org.
