Strategic plans are utilized by organizations worldwide as a tool for decision-making and resource allocation. It is a living document that clearly communicates where an organization's priorities lie, as well as outlines a strategy for meeting those priorities. 

On November 4, 2025, the City Council adopted the City of Galt Strategic Plan as a vital tool to implement a plan of action to achieve results for fiscal years 2025-2027. The strategic plan priorities for 2025-2027 include the following: 

• Quality of Life
• Economic Development
• Fiscal Stability
• Infrastructure
• Responsible Growth
• Employee Engagement
