About the Academy:

Join your neighbors as part of the City of Galt Citizens Academy, a 7-week, up close view of local government. Participants will take a deep dive into all aspects of city government through a variety of presentations and interactive activities. Attendees will have an opportunity to explore the following departments: City Manager's Office, Finance, Public Works, Parks & Recreation, Community Development, Economic Development, Human Resources, and Police.  Additionally, an overview of the City Council & Planning Commission will be provided, along with a presentation by CSD Fire Department. 

Academy Schedule:

Weekly sessions will be held on Wednesday evenings from 6:00pm - 7:30pm.  A graduation ceremony will occur after the final week of the Academy at a subsequent City Council meeting. Dates for the Fall 2023 program are as follows:

• August 30 - City Manager's Office, Human Resources, and City Council
• September 6 - Community Development/Planning Commission and Economic Development
• September 13 - Parks & Recreation
• September 20- Finance 
• September 27 - Public Works
• October 4 - Police
• October 11 -Cosumnes Fire Department 

All sessions will be held at Galt City Hall, 380 Civic Drive, in the City Council Chambers. 

Registration:

Enrollment is open to adults age 18 and older who are City of Galt residents or business owners.  Space is limited to the first 25 applicants.  Additional applicants will be waitlisted for future program offerings, which will be determined by community interest.
