Treasurer
Shaun Farrell was born and raised in Galt and attended Galt schools, graduating from Saint Pius X Preparatory School in the late 1970’s. Shaun attended Saint Mary’s College of California where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. He attended California State University, Sacramento where he earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. 

Shaun has been the City Treasurer since 1991 and is active in the California Municipal Treasurer Association (CMTA). In 1999, Shaun earned the distinctive Treasurer’s Certification from Certified California Municipal Treasurer (CCMT) and was re-certified in 2003, 2007 and 2011. Shaun is the founder and current chairperson of the CMTA Investment Policy Certification Program and a member of the CMTA Executive Board.
