The City Attorney is the chief legal officer of the City of Galt, and is responsible for advising the City Council, City Manager, and City administrative staff as to all legal matters pertaining to the City.

The City Attorney's mission is to contribute to the City's success by delivering high quality legal counsel, representation, and effective solutions with professionalism and integrity.

Many citizens believe that the City Attorney serves as the attorney for the community rather than for a municipal corporation.  The City Attorney is the attorney for the City of Galt, as an entity.  The City Attorney does not represent or provide legal advice to individual citizens, groups, or other entities.
