The purpose of the Youth Commission is to collaborate with city departments, community businesses and nonprofit organizations on matters pertaining to programs and activities for teens.  The Youth Commission encourages the youth to participate in activities that are purposeful in building better citizens, stimulate community service to Galt and encourage family participation in building civic unity.

The Youth Commission shall perform the following functions:
1. Receive and evaluate input from the community on issues relevant to teen programming.

2.  Serve as a resource and advocate to the City Council on teen issues.

3.  Perform such other functions as may be assigned to the Commission by the  City Council.

The Youth Commission meets the first Monday of every month, 6:30 pm, 380 Civic Drive.
