APPOINTIVE TERMS

  • Galt Parks and Recreation Commission
    The commission acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council and makes recommendations to the City Council on policy matters concerning parks and recreation issues.  The ability to serve a four year term and attend one meeting on the second Wednesday of every other month at 6:00 pm.

  • Galt Beautification Committee
    The purpose of the committee is to act as an advisory committee to the City Council and make recommendations on projects designed to maintain and improve the appearance of public areas within the City. The ability to serve a four year term and attend one meeting on the third Thursday of each month at 10:00 am.

  • Galt Planning Commission
    The purpose of the commission is to review matters relating to planning and development; to make recommendations on goals and policies affecting the future development and growth of the City; and to consider land use matters, such as general plan amendments, specific plans, rezones, use permits and subdivisions. The ability to serve a four year term and meet once a month on the second Thursday of each month at 6:00 pm.

  • Galt Commission on Aging
    The commission acts as a forum for any and all matters of concern to senior citizens of the City, and subject to the direction and approval of the City Council, to engage activities including convening voluntary associations for senior citizens, sponsoring or co-sponsoring community forums on topics of interest or concern to senior citizens. The ability to serve a four year term and attend one meeting on the fourth Thursday of each month at 10:00 am.

  • Historic Preservation Advisory Committee
    The Historic Preservation Advisory Committee recommends to the City Council the designation of cultural resources, including individual properties and historic preservation districts.  The ability to serve a three year term and attend meetings on an as needed basis.

  •  Public Safety Committee 
    The advisory committee evaluates any public safety issues within the community brought to the committee's attention by the City Council, City staff or residents, and make recommendations to the City Council. The Public Safety Committee is composed of eleven members, five of which must be residents of the City. The ability to serve a four year term and meet bi-monthly on the fourth Monday at 6:00 pm at the Police Facility, Pescetti Community Room.

  • Galt Youth Commission
    The purpose of the commission is to collaborate with City departments, community businesses and nonprofit organizations on matters pertaining to programs and activities for teens. The commission shall encourage the youth to participate in activities that are purposeful in building civic unity. The ability to serve a four year term and meet the first Monday of the month at 6:30 pm in the City Council Chambers.

  • Measure R Independent Citizens' Oversight Committee 
    This is an independent oversight committee to ensure that the funds are spent in a manner consistent with the provisions of the ballot measure. Qualifications: Must be a resident of Galt to be eligible to apply for committee membership. Current City of Galt employees, officials, contractors, or vendors of the City may not apply. The ability to serve a three year term and meet quarterly on the fourth Wednesdays at 6:00 pm.
