As you make your New Year’s Eve plans, please remember that the use of fireworks is prohibited within the City of Galt. This includes the sale, offering for sale, display, possession, or discharge of any fireworks, including those advertised as “safe and sane.”

This week, the Galt Police Department and City of Galt Code Enforcement will be working together to help keep our community safe. Enforcement efforts will include the use of drone technology to identify individuals using fireworks and to respond to reported violations.

Important Reminder:
Each firework used, possessed, or ignited is considered a separate violation and may result in a $1,000 fine per firework. Penalties apply not only to individuals setting off fireworks, but also to property owners, renters, and event hosts who allow fireworks on their premises.
