Tomorrow, August 20, the City of Galt will begin demolishing the Carillion Well, located at the southeast corner of Carillion Boulevard and DiMaggio Way.

Residents in the immediate area may experience some noise and ground vibrations during this work. The project is expected to take approximately two days to complete.

Originally constructed in 1990, the Carillion Well has been inactive due to well failure and must now be destroyed. Well demolition is necessary to properly abandon the well and ensure that the groundwater supply is protected for future use. This process involves perforating or puncturing the well casing and filling it with cement.
